March Revenue Forecast Equals More Money for State Budget

KUNC

Colorado’s latest revenue forecast shows signs of growth and a slight uptick in the economy. The better than expected quarterly forecast means lawmakers will have nearly 150 million additional dollars to work with in next year’s budget. Negotiations on how to spend that money are already underway. KUNC’s Bente Birkeland has more from the state capitol.

Bente Birkeland is an award-winning journalist who joined Colorado Public Radio in August 2018 after a decade of reporting on the Colorado state capitol for the Rocky Mountain Community Radio collaborative and KUNC. In 2017, Bente was named Colorado Journalist of the Year by the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), and she was awarded with a National Investigative Reporting Award by SPJ a year later.
